Winter School 2026 \u2013 Five days of intensive innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The ManagiDiTH Winter School and Innovation Bootcamp 2026 took place from 26 to 30 January 2026 at Laurea\u2019s Otaniemi campus. The goal of the event was to bring together around 100 students to develop innovative solutions in multidisciplinary teams addressing real challenges presented by companies in the field of healthcare digitalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the week, several esteemed experts spoke on topical issues such as digitalization and data management in the health technology sector, health technology innovations and their commercialization, the digital transformation of the pharmaceutical industry, intelligent physiotherapy, the application of digital solutions in rehabilitation, and business perspectives in the health technology market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to keynote sessions, several companies presented real business challenges related to healthcare digitalization to the students. The students were divided into multidisciplinary teams, and each team was assigned one company-presented challenge to work on throughout the week. The teams immersed themselves in ideation, discussed with company representatives to better understand the business context, tested different approaches, developed prototypes, and refined their concepts day by day. The week culminated on Friday with final presentations, where each team showcased their developed solution and received constructive feedback from both the challenge-presenting company and the event facilitators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Clinipower also participated by presenting a challenge and working with the students. Clinipower\u2019s challenge focused on one of the most critical questions in the health technology sector: How can an innovative digital healthcare product be effectively launched into the European markets?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Background of the challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The European digital healthcare market is growing rapidly, particularly in the areas of telemedicine, AI-based solutions, and personalized care. Despite the growth, companies face significant challenges: slow decision-making in healthcare organizations, strict EU regulations (such as MDR\/IVDR and GDPR), and market fragmentation. Countries vary in regulations, reimbursement systems, languages, cultures, and purchasing practices, making a unified launch across Europe difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The students\u2019 task was to develop a comprehensive launch strategy for an innovative digital healthcare solution. They were to consider the most effective channels for increasing awareness among healthcare organizations. In addition, they had to plan how the launch process would be implemented step by step, taking into account Europe\u2019s diverse markets, and how launch success would be measured and the strategy adapted in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The students\u2019 solution \u2013 An innovative platform for guiding the launch process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The team working on the solution created an impressive and well-executed concept. They designed a digital platform that would serve as a centralized tool to guide and facilitate the launch process across different European countries. The idea of the platform was to simplify internationalization by compiling all essential information in one place, instead of companies having to search for fragmented information from multiple sources themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The execution was of high quality. The team had created a functional mock-up that excellently illustrated how the system would work in practice. The presentation was clear and visually appealing. The proposed solution was exactly the kind that, once implemented, would guide the launch process very efficiently and significantly lower the threshold for internationalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Clinipower\u2019s contribution \u2013 Tools and new perspectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Participation in the Winter School was extremely valuable for Clinipower. The solution developed by the student team provided us with additional keys to better assist our clients in their internationalization efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The international team\u2019s approach highlighted cultural differences in decision-making, communication, and business practices, critical considerations for international launches. The event also offered an excellent opportunity to network with international partners and experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were able to see how the future professionals of healthcare digitalization approach complex business challenges by combining academic rigor, technological understanding, and practical business expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Collaboration call for companies \u2013 Master\u2019s thesis topics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n These skilled and diverse students are currently preparing for their master\u2019s theses, and this is an excellent opportunity to offer them concrete, timely topics relevant to your company. No compensation is paid to the students for the master\u2019s thesis. You will gain access to high-level expertise as the student works on your topic for several months under the supervision of a professor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The students bring international perspectives and experiences from various healthcare systems.
